On December 2nd, the Capital District Pipe Club gathered at the old location in Colonie for the last time. The store had already moved to the new location (1645 Central Ave), so we had the entire place to ourselves, which was a nice way to end the year. A couple of new members joined us for the holiday get-together, and Hans even wore a Christmas hat! The food was incredible, and there was more than enough for everyone to fill themselves! The cheesecake with chocolate crust made more than one member’s holiday.
Larry Loerzel received the “Pipe Man of the Year” award. The plaque presented by Scott was a very nice touch, and really set the mood for the party. Russ Ouellette brought a new tobacco to sample, and it was a huge hit! A good time was had by all. Below are just a few pics, the rest have been posted in the gallery under Holiday Dinner 2009. Below, find our year in pictures!
Plans for 2010
The start of the New Year brings with it some exciting plans for the Pipe Club. International Pipe Smoking Day is just around the corner, and we’ll be making plans for the celebration of the pipe smoking hobby at our January meeting so don’t miss it! (See the calendar on the forum for more details.)
We’re going on a road trip to the Kaywoodie Factory in late January! A tour of the facility, and lunch with the Kaywoodie crowd should make for a fun and interesting Saturday afternoon. Learn more at the January meeting, or visit the forum!
